Tesla and EV towing in Huntington Beach
Call (714) 785-6449 and say “Tesla” or “electric” before the truck leaves. A Tesla and most other electric vehicles should move on a flatbed with all four wheels off the pavement. Turning the driven wheels can spin the motor even when the cabin looks like it is in neutral. A wheel-lift is the wrong tool for that car.
That applies along Pacific Coast Highway, in the Main Street structure by the pier, in the lots at Bolsa Chica, and on the 405 shoulder at the Huntington Beach exits. The road does not change the rule. The loading does.
If the screen still has power, Tesla’s own instructions tell the owner to put the car in its towing setting before it is pulled onto a bed. If the screen is dark and the car will not roll, say that too. Loading a car that cannot creep forward is a different job than loading one that can.
Name the destination. That might be home, an independent shop, or a service center. This page does not claim a manufacturer appointment or a special credential. It describes the transport: a flatbed, four wheels up. More on the difference between a bed and a wheel-lift is on the flatbed page and in the EV towing note.
