Beach Boulevard is the road people mean when they say the freeway exit. The 405 ramps at Beach Boulevard, Goldenwest Street, and Magnolia Street are the three that cover most of the city. A shoulder call needs the ramp name and the direction. “On the 405 in Westminster” is not enough. The ramps are close, and the wrong one sends the truck to the other end of a jam.

• Westminster Mall, at Bolsa Avenue and Goldenwest Street.

• Midway City, the community on the west side, between Westminster and the coast, along Bolsa.

Little Saigon lots are crowded at meal times, and the aisles are short. If the car is in a lot off Bolsa, name the cross street and the business if you can see a sign. A lockout or a jump there is usually roadside assistance. A car that will not move, or one that died on the ramp, is a tow.

Beach Boulevard south of the freeway is the Huntington Beach stretch of the same road. You do not need a different phone number when you cross the city line. You do need the cross street: Edinger and Warner are already Huntington Beach, while Bolsa is still Westminster.
