Emergency towing in Huntington Beach
An emergency tow is a location problem, not a clock problem. Noon on Beach Boulevard can be more urgent than midnight in a driveway. Call (714) 785-6449 when the vehicle is in a travel lane, on a freeway shoulder, or somewhere it cannot stay.
The 405 beside Huntington Beach is the sharpest of those spots. The shoulder is narrow at the Beach Boulevard, Goldenwest, Magnolia, and Brookhurst exits, and the lanes move fast. If the car will coast, take it as far right as it will go, hazards on, and stay to the right of the vehicle. Tell the dispatcher the nearest exit and which direction you were heading.
Pacific Coast Highway is different. Between the Seal Beach line and the pier, and again from Main Street toward Newport, there is often a parking lane, a driveway, or a beach lot within a short roll. Use one of those if the car will move. Between Goldenwest and Newland the curb fills up on warm afternoons, so a driveway is the better stop.
Beach Boulevard, Highway 39, stops hard at the signals. A car that dies in the through lane at Warner, Edinger, or Garfield gets rear-ended attention it does not need. If it will roll, take the next driveway or the right turn onto a side street.
Say this when you call
- Whether any part of the vehicle is still in a travel lane.
- The road, the direction, and the nearest cross street or freeway exit.
- If the car cannot roll, if a wheel is off, or if it is an electric vehicle.
- Where it should be taken once it is off the road.
For a crash, use the accident recovery page. For a dead battery in a lot, use roadside assistance. Both are the same phone number.
