Questions before you call
Short answers for Huntington Beach. If the car is stopped now, call (714) 785-6449 instead of reading ahead.
Are you open at night and on holidays?
Yes. Call (714) 785-6449 any hour, including weekends and holidays. The same number is the Sunset Beach Towing dispatch line.
What should I say when I call?
Where the vehicle is sitting, including the road and a cross street or freeway exit, what the vehicle is, what happened, and where you want it taken.
Do you quote a price before the tow?
Yes. Ask for the price of that job before the truck hooks up. The number depends on the vehicle, how far it has to go, and what the recovery takes. This site does not publish a flat rate.
Can you jump a battery, change a tire, or bring fuel without towing the car?
Often, yes. Say that you want roadside help. If a jump does not get the car running, or there is no usable spare, the driver can tow it to a shop you name.
How should a Tesla or other electric vehicle be moved?
On a flatbed, with all four wheels off the ground. Turning the driven wheels on many electric vehicles spins the motor. Tell the dispatcher it is an EV before a truck is sent.
Do I pick the shop?
Yes. Give the address of the repair shop, dealer, body shop, or home. If you are not sure yet, say so on the call.
Which places do you cover from this site?
Huntington Beach, including Pacific Coast Highway, Beach Boulevard, and the 405 beside the city, plus Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Westminster, and Fountain Valley. Seal Beach is on sealbeachtowing.com. If you are somewhere else, call and ask.
What should I do while I wait on a freeway?
If you can, leave the travel lane for the shoulder. Keep the hazards on and stay out of the lane. On the 405 near Beach Boulevard, Goldenwest, Magnolia, or Brookhurst, the shoulder is narrow, so do not stand behind the car. On Pacific Coast Highway, use a driveway or the edge of a beach lot when the lane itself is not safe.
